The County is still in shock from the death of two of Cleveland's finest within hours of each other. Cleveland Police Det. James Skernivitz was killed with an informant last week. The killers, teens and young men were arrested. Within hours came the tragic news that Nick Sabo, a 39-year-old Cleveland police officer, had committed suicide which was confirmed by Chief Calvin D. Williams during a news briefing on Friday.
Friday morning was the Funeral for Detective James Skernivitz. Lakewood Fire Department represented Lakewood in the funeral by unfurling their flag over the procession as it left the Innerbelt, George Voinovich Memorial Bridge and on to East 9th St.
