This Is The Lakewood I Know

A couple weeks ago I asked Lakewoodites where our sensitivity, openness, and respect for one another went, over the tagging of Lakewood businesses showing support for Black Lives Matter. Lakewood, over the years has been one of the more open, loving, accepting cities in the region. While tempers flared over City issues of property and finance, rarely if ever did the community get into the gutter arguing over race, religion, lifestyle etc. Actually Lakewood has been called out many times as one of the most accepting cities in America. So you can imagine my horror, when the discourse fell to that level.
Than a ray of sunshine breaks through. This note was sent to me yesterday, and I was told I could share it. It comes from a new Lakewood couple that have fallen as madly in love with the city as they have with each other. Last month Gary Brezina called asking about the Lakewood Observer, and the city of Lakewood. It was obvious over the following hour that he and his better half truly LOVE Lakewood, and everything it has to offer everyone. It is always satisfying when what could best be described as a wash-a-shore, can describe this community with depth, love, vision and respect. Gary and Garrett, one of Lakewood's newest couples, and their business, Brezina Group Realtors, seemed very comfortable in their new home.
Then they cam home and found this letter in their front yard

From Gary...
"We got home to find this taped to our yard sign just now in suburban Cleveland. This is why visibility is important everywhere! We were moved to find this note when we arrived home and it brought us to tears as we were able to help validate someone’s identity who may feel lost or alone in a society that is not accepting of everyone. Thank you random stranger for making our day! "
Lakewood, and Lakewoodites I love you all!
