On a rainy morning Lakewood Fire Station Number 1 gets ready to say goodbye to James Anderson.

Easily one of Lakewood's most loved humans.

Jim at the annual Lakewood Fire Department Fire Fighter Recognition/Memorial Day. Fire Chief Tim Dunphy speaking about the community's love and respect for Jim.

Making sure the bell is ready.

Retired firefighters join with current firefighters, Police, and Mayor's office in the line to pay respect.

The hearse carrying Jim Anderson body to the grave arrives.

As the hearse stops, the line salutes Jim Anderson one last time.

And all to quickly Jim Anderson leaves Lakewood for the last time.
God bless you Jim Anderson. God Speed.
Interesting side note: Retired Fire Chief Scott Gilman walked up to pay respect. Scott mentioned that Jim Anderson had told him many times, "When I die I do not want a drive by of Fire Station 1, unless it is raining." As Scott told the story, the raindrops began to fall. Sure enough for about 20 minutes the crowd that had arrived to say goodby stood in a light rain. We all agreed, he had to be up in Heaven smiling down on all of us standing in the rain.
