It would be valuable to have some way to keep tabs on the various health issues of the people of Lakewood. It would go a long way towards making us the healthiest city that there ever was.

You might have missed this part of the conversation earlier in the year...

Mayor Ed FitzGerald and Council boy then Mayor Michael Summers got rid of the health department. As such we have to rely on what little information the Coiunty Health Department cares to share with the rest of us. As such no real COVID-19 facts for Lakewood.

If that was not enough, it seems that Lakewood might not be able to form another "recognized" health departments in the state. Which would mean even if we formed a new Health Department, it would not get help or information from the state or Federal Government.

Which means, every time they told us they were trying to make us healthier, it was a lie.

But of course you know that.

Let's not forget the restrictive covenant on the hospital property that prohibits another hospital from operating on that location.

No health department. No hospital. In fact, not much of anything now on that land. They sure took care of us.

But to give credit where credit is due, there was one bit of truth from that administration: "Healthcare is changing." Yup. They made sure of that.
