Those are both very sobering articles....especially, the one in The Atlantic.

But, how to get this information out to the younger people? Especially to those, who are so nonchalant about this virus.

If they knew and could grasp how their behavior is playing a large part in causing such debilitating effects on others, perhaps they'd listen up and take better care.

Thing is....are they going to read articles like this?
Do they watch the news, even?
Do they have a clue as to what is happening?

Not having children, I don't know the answers to my rhetorical questions.

And I wonder, if I was their age, would I be staying abreast on how dire this all is?
I really don't know.

I just know, that somehow they must be reached.
(I kinda doubt, that they are reading The Deck.)

Let's see if this link works. This is the Riverwood last night. I hope it gets into the right hands (crowd of people, no social distancing, few (if any masks).

No, Dan. I tried, but it's a private group. If one doesn't belong..... then nothing can be seen.

I personally think it's a good idea to join these groups just to be able to monitor what they are saying, or check something you see here (like this). One service you could provide the Deck is to join the Lakewood Community page and report back on any of their nonsence. Don't say anything there. Many of us have given the boot for the slightest infraction - me for reporting a runaway dog. Oh yeah, they are very sweet folks. Not.

Dan

It is like self flagellation.

I cannot believe a sane person would say this. ALL were created to control a message.

People should monitor stupid stuff and bring it where?

No thanks, I have what they call a real life.

Jim,
An ever so rare event  , we disagree here. I think it important for us to know what everyone in town is saying, even the "Lakewood Community." They have viewpoints we should hear about, including their rants against me, you, the LO and the Deck. I think it would fuel discussions here, but the most important thing is to have access to everything and not get buzzed out (reference intended) of the arena.

We found that dog - he's doing well BTW - but I haven't heard from "those people" (code intended) in over a year.
They are in touch with some power brokers and occasionally spill some beans. We should be in position to pick them up.
