A great read on what happens AFTER coronavires is discovered in your country or City. Back up with many charts with the actual numbers, and the numbers that were not reported. It is not about scaring anyone, it is about making you aware of what you are about to go through.

When you’re done reading the article, this is what you’ll take away:

The coronavirus is coming to you.
It’s coming at an exponential speed: gradually, and then suddenly.
It’s a matter of days. Maybe a week or two.
When it does, your healthcare system will be overwhelmed.
Your fellow citizens will be treated in the hallways.
Exhausted healthcare workers will break down. Some will die.
They will have to decide which patient gets the oxygen and which one dies.
The only way to prevent this is social distancing today. Not tomorrow. Today.
That means keeping as many people home as possible, starting now.

As a politician, community leader or business leader, you have the power and the responsibility to prevent this.

OK

Here is the problem in a nutshell. No vaccine, doubtful if one ever comes as Corona viruses has the ability to mutate and avoid vaccines. One of the many reasons corona ie cold viruses are used for military weaponizing. I am not saying this is one of them.

The only way anyone has had any luck in stopping and slowing it down are by stopping all public venues for 2-4 weeks. This has to be done all at the same time or it is ineffective.

At any given time there are about 1 million hospital beds in the USA, and 800,000 respirators. They are also about 85% being used right now. So if you take the number of patients that will need hospitals and respirators about 30%, it completely overwhelms the system and it breaks down.

The longer we take to shut down, the worse it gets.

This has been proven in every city and country it has popped up in.

As of today, Ohio still has no testing plan.

Hang on folks, it will be a wild ride.

This is dense and requires a lot of reading and thinking.

CONCLUSION: Immediate and aggressive efforts to suppress the contagion can be successful and will save lives.

South Korea has the best testing rate and the estimated death rate is .9% and falling. Countries like Iran have a death rate of close to 20% because they have a lousy health care system and they don't test the general population.

Isolation and social distancing makes sense for awhile because it actually works.

What is the cost of a complete breakdown in the economy?
What happens when your 401(k) is worthless?
What happens when your pension is worthless?
What happens when no one pays the mortgage? credit card? utility bill?

The USA is better able to handle economic disruption than most countries but what about the rest? What happens when the economy of Mexico crashes and civilized society disintegrates?

What is the cost in lives of a complete breakdown in the international economy?

At what point do we get back to work and let people get sick and survive and get sick and die? If you say never then I ask again: What is the cost in lives of a complete breakdown in the international economy?

Bill

Face it, the economy is going to dive no matter which course we take. Look at Italy and England which will soon have chaos.

We will suffer one way or the other, but I’ll take the course with less dead people along the way.

Gotta keep consumers alive!
