There was a free Lakewood Community Concert at Civic Hall with the Cleveland Orchestra conducted by Vinay Parameswaran and narrated by Donald Carrier. The program was entitled "Beethoven - The Man And His Music"

Thanks for great photos, Alex!

We're fortunate to have philanthropic support to bring the orchestra to Lakewood, and to have Beth Hankins driving the LHS orchestra program, which creates such incredible opportunity for students.

The Cleveland Orchestra has done a nice job of refining these community concerts where the audience can be more varied than their usual at Severance Hall. This program was essentially a primer on Beethoven. While some might accuse them of playing the "hits" - well-known passages of symphonies 5 and 9 - it was perfect for this environment. At the beginning, four LHS students joined them for a piece by Sibelius. If someone has their names, feel free to add them.

Also, kudos to the ghost with a camera I saw lurking quietly around the stage. I doubt many others noticed him. Alex, besides your photographic talents, you are a maestro of subtlety.

And of course thanks to Tim Liston for taking the time to post about the availability of his tickets and dropping them in my mail slot. That also was classy.
