The position became vacant January 1st when former at-large council member Meghan George assumed the role of mayor, to which she was elected in the November 5th General Election. Thanks for sharing this. Will the final list of candidates and those who are interviewed be made public?

The list of candidates is public record. Go to onelakewood.com website and click on public records.

You'll be able to see that I made a request. I downloaded the list, but I don't know how to post it on the Deck.

Sure!
I attended the Committee Of the Whole meeting this past Monday night, and Law Director Brian Corrigan stated that one of their intentions is to make Public Records more easily available.

He also mentioned that Mayor George is working on making the city's website easier to use.

The City's website is the most user-UNfriendly site. I think it was intentionally designed in that manner by the past administration to confuse users and to encourage them to surrender rather than spend the amount of time needed to navigate.

Although this seems like something small, it is a step in the right direction.

Bravo!

Exactly why Mayor George won this election. I’m glad to see her administration following through on promises right from the get go!

I was speaking with one of the candidates yesterday. He asked me what I thought about his application. I was excited. He's a young man who has been paying attention to local politics for some time.

I was also very happy to see that Brian Essi had thrown his virtual hat in the ring.

I'm also sure that I don't want to see candidates who have a long history with the local government.
