They are adding new roads and expanded freeways which will open up hundreds of thousands of acres of farmland to new development. IN most cases, voters do have short attention spans. However, there are some notable exceptions (for example, Iraq War).
The 2017, 2018, and 2019 elections have definitely proven that voters don't have "short attention spans" when it comes to the hospital. Marx, Nowlin, Bullock, and O'Leary have all suffered humiliating defeats despite massive funding and endorsement advantages.

Team Summers is done wasting its money trying to elect these damaged goods.
They will move forward with their "new" crop of puppets....candidates like Shachner and Neff that don't carry "Hospital Stink".

As recent elections started to show, there's a difference this time. There are more people who remember the fight over the west side development, more people who remember Charlie, and many more people who remember the hospital debacle. We continue to beat the drum for justice here on the Deck, and remain politically active every election. The hospital is no longer the issue, but the process of destroying it and giving the land away to friends of the mayor is still a fresh memory. Why give away so much for so little?
