A fellow Lakewoodite invited me down to the Mansfield Lahm Regional Airport to see the landing of NASA's Super Guppy, and the transfer of the Artemis/Orion Spacecraft which is headed to NASA's Plum Brook Station just outside of Sandusky. The spacecraft will be put through a series of tests over the next 6 months then completing those successful is headed to the Moon, then eventually in 2030 to Mars. Well that is the plan as of right now.

Lakewood and the Observer's ties to NASA? Margaret Herricks that works at NASA can be seen at the fence. Many might remember one of our first photographers Rami Daud, that left the LO to become a NASA photographer for nearly a decade.

Many Lakewoodites might remember the NASA Plum Brook Station as the place Loki comes to earth in the first "Marvel Avengers" movie.

The entire front opens like a refrigerator door on a single massive hinge. The plane was design to carry the Space Shuttle back to base for repairs, and other large spacecraft.
Many more photos, videos, information coming.
Here is a short video with the landing the opening of the Super Guppy and transfer of the spacecraft.
Amazing tip, invite and a huge thank you.
