Turkey Baster Thanksgiving Time!

Post by Gary Rice »

Good Friends in Lakewood Land:

Well, once again, holiday time is upon us, and along with the hustle and bustle that seems to accompany this season, so too, does the wonderful world of music.

While I've often performed conventional music, I've also had a special affinity for music done with unusual instruments. These can bring a smile and a chuckle into our lives, regardless of our politics, personal beliefs, or whatever else comes along to put walls between us. Music has always helped to break down those walls, and here's one performance that might help you get into the spirit of the season. Not long ago, Jim O'Bryan and I, with the help of our good friends at Rozi's, put together this little video of me playing the iconic Lakewood Observer banjo and a turkey baster, while performing "The Thanksgiving Hymn". It's not hard to play a turkey baster. You just fill it about a third of the way up with water (or your favorite libation situation ;-)) and blow across the lip while squeezing the bulb.

Why not give it a try? :D

Happy Thanksgiving all! :D

Back to the baster!
