A cogent reminder. I think she adequately maintained the civic checkbook. But as this illustrates, that was the limit. In other public statements she actually questioned the financial viability of Metro General. Metro issued close to $1 billion in a bond offering.

That’s correct.
Without any Metro financial data, she claimed here, in writing, that part of the reason Metro was ignored was because they didn’t have the financial ability to take on Lakewood Hospital .
As we all know now for sure, she was completely wrong. Which of course, was because she had no knowledge of their financials. But that didn’t stop her from making wild accusations.
Meanwhile, Metro has expanded, opened neighborhood clinics and ER’s, and is upgrading their main campus.

Jenn Pae is so emblematic of how the Summer's administration diverged from prior administrations. In that respect, his administration does have a Trumpian quality. Send out a respected public civil servant to promote his political agenda (actually that's more Bush, see Colin Powell). Hire a convicted felon in your building department to create fake news about your opponent. Summers deployed the entire city government, including council, to promote his agenda, truth be damned.
This is different. I've lived in Lakewood my entire adult life and everything change when Summers decided to wage a disingenuous campaign against the people of Lakewood to rob the city of its hospital and the hospital's value. I so look forward to a George administration.
