Built on the pipedream of creating a world-class showcase mall for medical equipment and technologies, the building is an annual money pit with no functional identity that now mostly houses proms, assorted meetings, and the hungry masses who desire Au Bon Pain.

Take note that you had to read about this in the Scene. Careful readers of other local media will be able to deduce the troubles of the Medical Mart by reading about the tenants, Tri-C, NEORSD and other government agencies but you won't find any in depth reporting in that other media, just feel good fluff and puff.

The Scene is also reporting that the $250 million the taxpayers will spend on the Rocket Mortgage Arena will allow the Arena to compete with the $350 million taxpayer funded convention center

(When the Plain Dealer reports on the taxpayer cost of these facilities it always leaves out the interest payments).

Did I mention the taxpayer funded hotel?

The County owns the hotel because everyone in the hotel business said the hotel made no financial sense. When I hear something makes no financial sense I don't do it. When our County government is told their plans make no financial sense there response is: That's OK, the taxpayers will pay for it!

Tim Hagan and his friends in Chicago made a lot of money on this deal. You won't read about their cashing in and the failure of there plans in the Plain Dealer.

Many of the problems of Cuyahoga County can be traced to corrupt and incompetent government, AKA, Friends of Mary Louise Madigan.

Believe it or not that brings us back to the up coming elections here in Lakewood. You can vote for the allies of our Corrupt County Government or you can voter for someone else. Einstein is credited with saying:

“The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results.”

If you want different results do something different. If you want honest government vote for honest people.
