Friday flashback: June 9, 1954.

After years of toxic politics had seemed unassailable, Joseph Welch spoke on camera directly to its author Joe McCarthy:

"You have done enough. Have you no sense of decency, sir? At long last, have you left no sense of decency?"

Roy Cohn' who this is mentioned here, has a presence that is felt today through Trump and new generation of indecent political operatives, including those at the local level.

After the refresher of that iconic Senate hearing provided by Matt Kuhns, and then reflecting on its simplistic elegance, I then look at "the Lakewood Voter Guide" and can only employ todays' vernacular---WTF?

I have to say, I do not remember anything blowing up in a person's face as bad as this.

The calls I got from people I have not spoken to saying, "Damn, you were right, it is a small group of people willing to do anything, they do not care about Lakewood..," "I cannot believe these people think they should be running our government, they were run out of Lakewood politics."

AND

"Now 'The Team' is clear as day, I cannot believe it, this insults my intelligence!"

Long-time Summers, and O'Leary supporters. They could handle all of it but Ed FitzGerald, Mary Louise Madigan, and Nate Kelley running their same old tired bullshit.

Lakewood, you got played over the hospital, don't be played again.

Hottest city in the county needs honest, accountable elected officials.
