This deserves a properly titled thread.

O’Leary is claiming in his latest mailer that he will freeze property taxes for seniors.

A mayor is legally and procedurally unable to do that.
Property taxes are not under their control.

O’Leary is just like Trump - say whatever is in your head, true or not. Promise the world to get a vote.

Like Trump, he is unqualified to lead this city.

This is just another legal quibble.

Some seniors are eligible for a homestead exemption on their property taxes. I'm sure that's the "freeze".

This is just like his testimony before Judge Friedman that the Master Agreement didn't exist until council voted on it.

The homestead exemption results in a small decrease in property taxes, not a freeze of taxes. There is an income limit to qualify that was set several years ago. Before that time, age was the only qualification. I did not look up the current income limit before this post but it was in the low $30,000's I believe.

Sam O'Leary again provides proof that he is willing to say anything to win this race. His handlers are willing to financially support any lie he tells to get their man into office. Then, when they have him in place, they can manipulate as they need to benefit themselves and their friends.

Vote for Meghan George for Mayor and let's throw this guy out of City Council too.

What a peculiar candidate

That these are sent out under Sam's name makes Sam a fool. That these are sent out without his knowledge, makes Sam a bigger fool.
