Ward 1 Update: "Drivers Ed" FitzGerald is Back in Town!

The first election this fall will be the Ward 1 Council primary on September 10.
The race, which is expected to very competitive, has four candidates.
One of them is working with disgraced former County Executive/Gubernatorial Embarrassment Ed Fitzgerald.
Tess Neff, who entered the contest relatively late, hired FitzGerald's firm for "consulting" on the campaign.
"Democracy Advisors" is another name for Fitzy's "Great Lakes Strategies" business. (see pdfs)
As many folks recall, "Great Lakes Strategies" is the company that published "Lakewood Neighborhood News", the infamous 2015 "fake newspaper".

Neff claims to be running on a platform of transparency....but it's very obvious that she's just another cog in the corrupt, deceptive FitzGerald Machine.

If anyone needs a refresher course on Fitzgerald’s disastrous campaign for governor of Ohio, which basically handed Ohio to the Republicans, here is a PD article summarizing. Please note the arrogance of Fitzgerald throughout the debacle - he insisted he could win despite clear signs he was in trouble. As Henry Gomez notes, the trouble was all of his own making.

Most agree that FitzGerald's mess is largely of his own making and that Monday's staff exodus stems from pronounced disappointments and disagreements that emerged in recent weeks amid a torrent of damaging revelations and negative publicity.
Anything Fitzgerald has his hand in is for HIS OWN benefit and no one elses’s.
The fact that he’s backing Neff should be a warning to run the other way!

Need more reminding of the disaster that is Ed Fitzgerald?
This is a an accurate description:

The trend of FitzGerald nabbing jobs for which he seems personally unsuited given his track record continued with this week's news that the Cuyahoga County Democratic Party has hired FitzGerald and his firm, Democracy Advisors, to be the party's fundraiser.
The guy has had more jobs than there are hands out grabbing the hospital foundation money.

Ed Fitzgerald dealt in fake news long before the Russians.
Wonder if he’ll do it again to boost Neff.

Yep, you're right. A better title would have been "Drivers Ed is back on the campaign trail"

I wouldn't be shocked if "Lakewood Neighborhood News" makes some sort of return in 2019. Team Summers has lots of cash to burn, and their stable of candidates (led by Sam The Sham O'Leary) is desperate.

Don’t forget Ed Fitz has his leftover gubernatorial cash which he said he’d use to back his favored candidates.

It's a political campaign fund, and my intention is to use it for campaign purposes, which will be for political candidates
Think he’ll help out his client Tess Neff?
