Lakewood Says Goodbye To A Favorite Dancer

Vivian Smith-Shiers, age 101 years old died this week in her sleep in Park Ridge, New Jersey.
Vivian joined one of the most famous dance troupes in the world, "Ballets Russes de Monte Carlo" where she performed and toured from 1934-1937.
She then left for a key spot with the Radio City Rockettes, where she met her husband of 40 years. He passed away in 2007.
She left the Rockette for a roll in the first production of "Oklahoma" then went on the road with "Showboat."
Why does this matter? Vivian Smith grew up in Lakewood, Ohio.
Vivian will be remembered for her joy of life, quick and devilish sense of humor, tenacity, and incredible blue eyes. She was a loving and wonderful daughter, wife, mother and friend.
Vivian was predeceased by her husband, Paul and her daughter, Linda. She is survived by her daughter, Diana Shiers (Sean McCoy); and granddaughter, Aimie Hanlon (Tim); and great-grandchildren Tyler and Kaley.
