Riverside Drive Resurfacing From Graber to Daleview To Begin on May 9th

From the City of Lakewood

Resurfacing has begin on Riverside Drive from Graber Drive to Daleview Avenue. Riverside Drive traffic will be ONE WAY and maintained north bound. The south bound traffic will be detoured.
The project includes milling and overlay of the existing pavement, preform base repairs, upgrading deficient curb ramps to current ADA standards, replacement of pavement markings and signage. Road construction invariably presents hazards to the public. Please use caution in the construction zones. Your safety and the safety of the workers are our greatest concern.

From Lakewood Observer - Drivers, drivers, drivers get your shit together. It seems obvious that Riverside Southbound is closed. I has been marked at every intersection as such. There are signs and notices all over town. I post this as in the first 3 hours, we have had nearly 6 head on accidents, as drivers try to make it a block, or two. Turn the wrong way talking on cell phone, and somehow just not reading the signs!

Be careful, avoid the area if you can.

So how do I get home after buying bread at Breadsmith??

It’s going to be inconvenient but the road definitely needs repaved.

I was behind a guy this morning who stopped, started to turn left, stopped again and then craned his neck out looking to see if he could sneak by and go left, then finally gave up and turned right. You could just see the thought process!

I’m waiting for the inevitable crash sounds.

Crews are working fast on Riverside Drive (SR237), but expectation is closed one way for a month or more.
