The Silent Issue -- Lakewood Transformed

Will We Recognize Our Hometown In 2025?
The largest transformation in the history of Lakewood (since I-90 was cut through) is now upon us.
By my informal estimate approximately $250,000,000 of private developer investment is now before the planning commission.
Approximately 625 units of new housing including commercial space will be built, most of it within three projects:
One Lakewood Place
Detroit-Bunts-Parkland
Detroit-Cranford-Rosewood
The totality of these developments (along with a few others) are likely to significantly change our city.
This transformation of Lakewood is in the planning stages and should not be a silent issue.
Despite significant job loss between 2015-2018, Lakewood is poised, for good or for ill, for major development investment activity.
