Ohhhhhh that must mean internationally renowned author, journalist, Lakewood Observer feature writer and true Renaissance woman Erin O'Brien must be in the house.

Lakewood Public Library Director James Crawford, speak with Erin O'Brien about her upcoming book, "Rust Belt Burlesque" due out early this summer.
The 200 plus page book looks at not just the golden days of burlesque, but the amazing re-emergence of burlesque as a true art form in the 21st Century. I have also been told it features a whole chapter on Collinwood's Beachland Ballroom, and how it has become the epicenter of the new burlesque movement.

If you know Erin, or have had the pleasure of being in her proximity, you know she is a true force of nature. A journalist that cut her teeth on some tough stories, and after being a writer and an editor at various publications, she has returned to writing books, something she truly excels at. "There is something for everyone in this book. Memories of the Roxy, and the people that made the entire culture what it was. And a serious nod to where it is now and headed." Her eyes lighting up as she tells of the book. "I wrapped 20,000 words around Bob Perkoski's amazing photos. I am very proud of the entire project."
You will read more about this book as we get closer to her talk about it at Lakewood Public Library in August.
You might have remember her from "Irish-Hungarian Guide To The Domestic Arts"

Stay tuned to hear about what is next for Erin and the Lakewood Observer...
