Word on the street is that there was a carjacking Saturday at McKinley Place on W Clifton.
Police blotter has a Grand Theft incident at 10:24pm on Saturday at McKinley Place but no further details.
Anyone have information?

From Lakewood Police Department...
That is correct there was a robbery and car theft at this location on Saturday night.
The victim had parked her vehicle and was approached by two male suspects, one who was holding an object that looked like a handgun.
They ordered the victim to the ground and took her car key and cell phone. They then drove off with her car. The cell phone was recovered at the scene and the car was recovered Sunday on the near west side of Cleveland.
No arrests or suspects and the incident is still under investigation.
Anyone with any information on this crime should call Lakewood Police at 215.521.6773

Official reports again refuse to use the term "carjacking"....the City Hall Spin Team is in top form.
Lakewood is getting a reputation for carjacking.....
that's not a good thing for a city that has chosen to base its economy on bars and restaurants.

Mike
Perhaps the city can put out a bulletin like they did for the coyote issue.
To prevent a carjacking:
Yell and wave your arms when approached by the carjacker.
Use noisemakers (e.g. your voice, whistles, air horns, bells, soda cans filled with pennies or dead batteries, pots and pans banged together).
Use projectiles (e.g. sticks, small rocks, cans, tennis balls, rubber balls). Please throw these objects toward the carjacker, not at the carjacker
Try other repellents (e.g. hoses, water guns with vinegar water, spray bottles with vinegar water, pepper spray, bear repellant, or walking sticks).

Mike
Car-jacking is the way thugs steal cars in the 21st Century, you need the key to start the car, and turn off the alarm.
But for a city that is midway between a bedroom community dedicated to education, and a bar based tourist trap, crime is a killer.

Bedroom community dedicated to education = Bedford Falls
Bar-based tourist trap = Pottersville, er Summersville

"The victim had parked her vehicle and was approached by two male suspects..."
I wonder if they ever got a description.
