But the truth is that Sweeney voted for a Republican budget bill that CUT funding to Lakewood schools by over half a million dollars!

On May 2, 2017, Representative Sweeney voted for the House Republican Budget Bill (Amended Substitute House Bill 49). With that vote, Representative Martin Sweeney voted to cut state funding to Lakewood Schools by more than $880,000, the 2nd largest cut for any school district in Ohio. He was only 1 of 3 Democrats to vote for the Republican Budget on May 2nd.

This is totally acceptable to lifelong Republican Mike Summers, who only joined the Democratic Machine because the Lakewood GOP became irrelevant by 2007.
