If the people on City Council and the Lakewood Hospital Association Board had done half as much thinking on this subject as Mr. Kindt we would still have a hospital in Lakewood.
City Council still has the chance to redeem itself.

Thank you, Mr. Call.
Elected and other public officials across the entire spectrum of government need to give particular care when it comes to the disestablishment of civic and community infrastructure.
Having a community hospital in a city of 50,000 is key public safety infrastructure that is essential to any basic concept of emergency preparation.
The actual reality and physical embodiment of that statement is on its way to the wrecking ball.
All while the Metro Health System is building new community hospitals in suburbs that are similar to Lakewood.

WOW!!!!! I just read the slide presentation of Metro. I had always assumed that Metro was just a sideline player and its interest in Lakewood was superficial thereby allowing the Administration to dismiss Metro's proposal. What an eye opener! Metro's proposal is succinct, professional, and spot on as to Lakewood's needs.
What kind of ****ing blinders were the decision makers wearing? Traitors. Stan Austin

Lakewood Taxpayers File Suit To Stop Closure of Lakewood Hospital
A big thank you to each citizen and each attorney for bringing this lawsuit and staying the course. You are each a local hero.
The affidavit of Dr. Kilroy is especially notable because it describes which programs and services were removed from Lakewood Hospital and relocated to other Clinic facilities.
