Re: Reported Shooting

On Friday February 23, 2018 at 2:34 am the Lakewood Police Department received a call form 1417 Olivewood Ave reporting the caller's son had just shot his girlfriend. The caller stated his son had left the home. Responding officers observed the male in the back yard of a neighboring home. The male, 23 yrs old, ran behind a house and a gun shot was heard. The male was found to have a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 21 yr old, female was transported to the Metro Health Medical Center where she is currently in the Intensive Care Unit. (She has died)

The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's office has been contacted and the investigation is on-going.

Prayers to the young lady, I hope she survives and makes a full recovery.

The male has been identified as Amer A. Ahmad 23 yrs old.

The female who has died from her wounds is identified as Sarah J.Hahmood 21 yrs old.

We are awaiting the ruling from The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's office on the manner and cause of death.

Our investigation into this case is continuing.
