Indeed!
What charitable foundation could survive without the expertise of Jay Carson?
http://politicsguys.com/ "Jay is an attorney specializing in commercial litigation – finding new and exciting ways to destroy The Little Guy on behalf of The Man."
A perfect board pick to help the most vulnerable residents in Lakewood.
Bravo!

Is it normal to have so many directors?

Half this list was mentioned in January of 2015 as the very "team" that would end up with the money.
This was back when Mayor Summers called the LO Liars for saying the hospital was closing, "fake news."
Not only did we nail that one correctly we correctly nailed those that would get control the money.
Nostradamus move over.
No wonder a small handful of people work so hard to vilify Lakewoodites talking over the digital fence.

Somehow those instrumental in shutting-down Lakewood Hospital (Mr. Haber) and defending the shut-down in court (Mr. Wolley) and campaigning in favor of the shut-down (Mr. Fitzgerald) all wind-up involved in the management of post-hospital assets.
Most curious.
Most curious, indeed.

We can also note that both of the physicians serving on this board are affiliated with the Cleveland Clinic.

Well you don’t think the Cleveland Clinic isn’t going to control what they consider their money, do you?

We can also observe that the Cleveland Clinic has two (to-be-named) board members on the other foundation; the foundation that will eventually come into existence when the Foundation Planning Task Force completes its work, identified as "New Foundation" in the Master Agreement.

What still worries me most is a small handful of this crew have been trying desperately to raise money for old outdated ideas. Failing to raise any appreciable money ever, it would seem they have positioned themselves with the help of their friend, our Mayor to control a big chunk of money that was raised to save Lakewood Hospital and keep it running. Matter of fact we have statements from many of them raising money to "keep a valuable anchor" in their "DowntowN" branded area.
When Mayor Tom George appeased them, there BIG IDEA was to pay $40,000 to Mainstreet, so that we could be "awarded" Mainstreet Designation. This allowed us to pay another $20,000 or so a year to Mainstreet Inc. and get other "awards" in our Mainstreet Programs.
I would look for this group to desperately try to buy their way into one of many groups you can buy "success" with, and be branded, old, green, blue, saved, whatever.
They certainly will look to buy some awards, because their success rate is near zero.
God I hope I'm wrong but if history truly repeats itself, here come the self awarded bought "awards" again.
