2016 O'Leary Prez Was Rigged Backroom Vote---Will 2018 Vote Be Repeat of History?

Bullock still has not emerged from his "Thicket of Resentments" after being upstaged by Junior O'Leary in a the late 2015 backroom deal.
The formal public "vote" for O'Leary as Council President occurred on January 4, 2016.
But as you can see from the official video at about 16:40, O'Leary's fake leadership had already been decided in the back room long before. Indeed, O'Leary was already chairing the meeting and as he calls for nominations for Council President, he gives Marx the pre-planned nod to nominate him. No discussion, 7-0 vote.
Check out Bullock's body language---Council Clerk Mary Hagan's "Punk Ass" comments about the Scene's Eric Sandy must have been at the forefront of Bullock's thoughts as he cast his vote for O'Leary.
O'Leary's rubber stamping run as council president has been characteristic the "Thicket of Resentments" on Council---The 2016-2017 Council has not let the people who elected them see what is really going on---no public debate---all backroom backstabbing in the secret "Thicket".
Will the 2018 Council have a similar backroom deal cut for its leadership next week?
Or will there be a public debate about who is the best, most qualified, most honest and most transparent choice for Council President?

Come on 2018 City Council...Let's start the New Year off right....Groundhog's Day is not until February 2nd.
The vote for Council president is supposed to be January 2nd 2018, not December 2017.
