I have a real big problem, I had breakfast there this morning, it was very good, and I'm a big fan of the place, and I went back later in the afternoon for "dinner to go", a roach ran across the counter, so how do I address this problem? Do I identify the place, on this forum, it would ruin the business, or do I call the health department, if so, they may close for a couple weeks, I don't care, this is more than upsetting to me, than to them, evidently, ignoring the problem. Jack, I took a Grey Hound bus to Chicago a couple years ago, there were roaches running long the hand rail, I thought of my pants legs, my socks, my hat, my luggage, oh god, stop the bus, let me off, I'll walk.

Having experienced this situation myself, I would say to name the business on the Forum. The Health Department will basically do nothing and trying to navigate their confusing website to research restaurants is a joke.
It has happened to us TWICE at Luchita's. We used to go every week. The first time, I thought perhaps it was a freak occurrence. So, we stayed away for a few months and then went back. The roach crawled across my plate and dove into the bowl of tortilla chips. I screamed and ran away from the bar (which is where we were sitting). The manager made some snide remark and laughed it off. The bartender said to us, "Every restaurant has roaches" like it was no big deal. Well, I spent over 30 years in the business and in that time only once saw a roach early on in my career.
We haven't been back to Luchita's in almost 4 years and neither have the majority of our friends who frequented there as well. I believe that it was my responsibility as a consumer to warn others about this situation and I think that you should do the same for us.

Then there is the question " what is less healthy the roach or the spray used to kill them ? "
Eat at home.

If an independent. I say give the owner a chance to correct the problem.
If a big chain, I don't care what you do as long as you do something.

I wrote the owner, I informed him of my experience and ask him to clean the place, if I have this experience again, and surely I will, then I will scream at the top of my lungs. and right while I'm sitting at the counter. Öh my god, ""there is a roach"" and I will disclose the location on this forum. I tired to contact the health inspector, there is no true direct site or contact info, all it has are other sites begging you to post here or look there. I still have my boxed dinner to go from yesterday, still in the fridge. I'm afraid to eat it, The door to the kitchen says, " and it's right in front of me, ""employees only, when the door swings open and closed, I can peek inside, it does not look clean. It looks awful.
The inspector who inspects that place must be paid off, here's a couple hundred bucks, let it go, don't report me. Fraud and incompetence. They have plenty of waitresses, cooks, bus boys, cashiers, but no cleaning crew. Look at that toaster, if I left crumbs on the counter under the toaster for a month, I'd have more pest than sense.
Sexual harassment, I'd rather someone made a leud pass at me than serve me food from a dirty kitchen. I'm just saying.

Good question James, what is worse, the roach or the remedy? Close for such a period of time that the roaches and the scent of the pesticides have dissipated. Deemed safe by the health department, ha ha ha. lmao what health department? The ones who permitted the place to get a clean bill of health in the first place? lol, Who is the inspector for this area, Ray Charles?

It kills Gremlins so I'm guessing it'll kill a roach!
Oh you mean the germs on the roach, right. Yeah... so gross. Just toss it, man, and don't go there anymore.

As an FYI, Lakewood itself does not do any food inspections. Food inspections are run by the county. Here is a link to the web site and you can click on Food Inspections and then drill into Lakewood to see the local establishments.

I'm really pissed off at myself.
I would not expect any guest at my dinner table to even consider having something to eat, if they saw a cockroach running across anything, especially my table.
Yet, I paid for a awful dinner, I guess I was so shocked, I couldn't think, I went to the "pay station" with my dinner to go, and the daughter ask, (she is the cashier), "was everything ok?"
I said, yea, except the roach than ran across the counter. She replied, "perfect", she did not ever hear my answer, and HIM, sitting in his designated booth, watching the money roll in, I paid for a possibly, contaminated dinner, I should have refused it. Saved my lousy $7.35 check,
CHECK, what check, certainly not conducted by the health department. wHO DID THE LAST INSPECTION? i WANT TO KNOW HIS NAME. WAS HE PAID OFF? i WANT TO KNOW.
Me dummy. I'm paid George for a possibly pest infected meal, is he screwing us? How could this place pass an inspection under these conditions? $$$$
All right already, I'll tell you who it is, as a guest, I visit maybe 2 times a week, if I see a roach, on those rare visits, then the staff has to see it all the time. The staff closes down and they all go home, no one cleans. George's Kitchen on Trisket and Berea. What can be done? there food is good and hot, satisfying, but I will not be back, and will tell everyone I know.
I tried to contact that health department in that web site thing, BUT I'm old and can't maneuver, I'LL CALL THEM TOMORROW.

The last meal I got there was Baked City Chicken, with soup, green beans and potatoes, i asked, are they real mashed potatoes, she said no, they are whipped. Never again, maybe for breakfast, but nothing else.
Tonight I stopped at the Winking lizard, I got a Country Fired Chicken Lunch to go, real red skin mashed potatoes, breaded chicken breast, flatten out, looking forward to it.
