Hilliard Bridge Jumper

This afternoon around 1pm a male walked out on to Hilliard Bridge on the South side, then crossed the bridge in front of 6 witnesses and jumped over the edge.
Police and fire responded immediately passing me as I headed south on Riverside on the way to lunch
Arriving at the bridge, they could not find the male, though one woman took police to edge as Lakewood Fire Department and ambulances went to below the bridge. No one could see the man.
Suddenly reports came back the man was in the water and a water rescue was started.
Amazingly, the man had jumped 147 feet, landing in 2' of water, got himself to the bank, where he collapsed and Lakewood Fire found him.
He is currently at Metro Hospital.
