1960's Lakewood

Post by jackie f taylor »

I don't know how my parents did it, 5 kids, a dog & cat, making $75.00 a week, we didn't know what "fast food "was, a pizza? almost none existent, we never ate out, unless at a relatives or friends place, a wringer washer, mom hung the clothes across the kitchen to dry, no dish washer, can you imagine, 7 sets of washing dishes, 3 times a day, by hand, not to mention the pots & pans, I remember a snow fall that lasted for two weeks, there were no plows, if the snow fell on Sunday, you had to deal with it till two Sundays went by, everyone pushing each other out of a snow drift, taking a ride, hanging on the bumper down the street. thank goodness for innovation, Those were the Days. Never want to see them again, maybe not?
