Summers - the Great Divider?

From the hospital to the Breed Specific Legislation protests, Mayor Summers has had the responsibility as the Chief Executive to manage the crises and to work for the best interests of Lakewood residents.

How has he performed?

AFAIS, rather than unite the city, he has shown a lack of leadership skills. In fact, his actions have created a huge divide in the city. He has belittled and dismissed any person or group that doesn't see things his way, calling them EMOTIONAL. From the hospital giveaway, to the Kauffman Park incident, to the response to the BSL protests, to the library jawbreaking incident, even to honest questions from residents regarding racism and gentrification in our city.

I'd say his title should be THE GREAT DIVIDER.

Because of the lies, the cover-ups and the damage to the very psyche of the city.

Worst mayor, easy to remember.

Fits, as he so easily could have been the best, until he screwed up, and screwed up and screwed up and screwed up...

There was NEVER any chance of Fitzy being "the best". He was elected on a wave of racist fearmongering.....and from Day One his goal was to get a higher office ASAP, leaving the public to clean up the mess that he left.

I agree that Mike Summers is a divisive one, but he didn't do this all on his own. He had the help of his subordinates on our city council, within the city administration, and the help of the news media.

However, it appears that Mr. Summers' is now causing divisiveness within his own circle of friends. As has been mentioned before on the Deck, many of his comrades, including one elected official are abandoning ship and leaving Lakewood, often without a forwarding address. Speaking of which, why does Dru appear to be leaving town now? The "for sale" sign is up.

I suppose I don't blame him. I'm not speaking of Dru specifically here, but when this bubble finally bursts, would you want to be anywhere near Lakewood if you were part of this?
