Every year in Late Summer like the Warblers and other species that migrate, Monarchs cross Lake Erie, gather near the shore and head south to Central Mexico.

From the peak of the 2015 Migration over Lake Erie.
After flying across the Lake they need a day or two feeding on flowers to get ready for the rest of the trip.
Migration usually peaks early to mid-September.
