A reminder to all about the parade & picnic on Tuesday:
THE PARADE:
The parade starts at 10:00 a.m. We need to get there at 9:30 a.m. We will line up near Webb & Edgewater and be near the end of the parade. The cars must get there by 9:30.
THE PICNIC:
Where: Our spot is in the south east corner of Lakewood park. We tend to gather at the end of the parade in this location. So, when you are done walking, driving or biking follow the others to find the spot. We will have cold water there.
When: officially 2:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. We figure people will want to go home to get their food, but we will have tables and canopies set up and you can stay right after the parade.
What: in the spirit of community togetherness, please bring a dish to share. Also you may want to bring something for your family for the grill. We will have a couple of them set up. Don’t forget the buns and the condiments. Please bring your own drinks as well. The Lakewood Observer will provide watermelon, dessert, paper goods and eating utensils.
Also to bring: CHAIRS! Blankets, coolers, games, towels & swimsuits, skateboard…but please don’t bring your dog, as they are not allowed in the park.
WANT TO HELP?
We still need coolers to keep the water cold for the end of the parade. We will need these early (day before?). Please post a note if you can spare one. Help setting up early morning (before the parade) and tearing down at night would also be appreciated.
That’s the scoop! Come on out. March and eat. Enjoy some good times and good company. Celebrate the Lakewood Observer’s birthday as well as our nation’s.
