I find it quite shocking how brazenly the lawyers for the city of Lakewood lie in their motions in the Writ of Mandamus case.

For example, from today's filing, a motion asking for yet more time to comply with the court order. That in itself is rather obnoxious considering they were ordered to comply in March. However, in this motion they claim the relator, Brian Essi, did not object to their asking for a delay.

Quite the contrary, boys. In fact, on June 9 the Relator filed a Response in Opposition to the Motion for an Extension of Time and Motion for Additional Time.

It's all right there on the court docket. The actual documents can be opened and viewed.

Yet the lawyers and the city continue to spread their falsehoods. They assume most people won't look at the docket and read the motions, but anyone who does can see what they are saying is hogwash.

Do yourself a favor. READ THE MOTIONS ON THE DOCKET.

The mayor and his minions are bald-faced liars.

The official city Facebook page reposted Mayor Summer's chest thumping but totally misleading claim that the city released documents.

I posted the following. How long before it gets deleted?

Thank you for screenshoting it and get such an important message out. I don't know how the finance/social media director gets away with this selective censorship. Two assistants & constant facebook activity? It's all so unprofessional and petty.

Your message of empowerment is so important but few seem to do it. It's like the Twilight Zone. I bring up the topic to a fellow constituent who I haven't seen in a while and the response: "But the mayor is such a nice guy!" ...and then the kicker "What's going on? I never really understood the entire hospital thing."

I'm going to repeat myself here but the best lawyers I know insist that at the end of the day all you have is your good name.

This quote that is from a law enforcement official 6/14/17 referring to Lakewood public officials.

It would be illegal for the city to delete comments off of an official city Facebook page.

I'd be delighted if they removed my comment directing readers to the court docket.

It does appear that your comment was deleted. I strongly feel this is an affront to your right to free speech and a government body as no right to censor you. Unlike the faux nongovernmental Lakewood Community page this is an official government outlet. They have no right to delete your comment as it becomes part of the government record. This city has blended governing with spin and has lost its way. File a complaint. I am sick to death of how governing is a thing of the past in this city. As seen from the few emails released, they are all about obfuscation. High priced obfuscation that we have all paid for.
