Principal Frank O'Linn, a 1993 alum that has worked at the school for 15 years as a teacher and administrator, is leaving St. Edward High School. He has accepted the opportunity to serve the Catholic Diocese of Cleveland as the Associate Superintendent for Secondary Schools beginning July 1, 2017.  St. Edward made tremendous strides during his tenure, with rising enrollment and the launch of the IB program.

In his resignation letter he wrote:

"I love the St. Ed's Community, and I am grateful for all of the opportunities I have had here. It is difficult to depart at this time with so many positive developments still coming to fruition.  My love for the school, our community, and the Congregation of Holy Cross and its mission remain unwavering.  I am able to continue my vocation to lead schools in delivering strong Catholic education for students and families. I am honored to serve the Church in this way, supporting the 20 high schools in the Diocese of Cleveland..... The life of a principal has been known to come into conflict with the needs of my growing family, especially my four young children.  In this new position, I find the opportunity to continue the vocations that I love, to apply my skills to the great challenges we face in Catholic education, and to make God known, loved, and served in an even broader capacity.

I continue to believe strongly in the work that we are doing at St. Edward.  I am grateful to our president, Jim Kubacki, for his support of my growth as we have advanced St. Edward's mission, and for the trust and faith of our outstanding faculty and staff, students and families. I am confident in St. Edward's strong future because of its great leadership, dedicated professionals, and supportive community, all of whom keep it faithful to its mission. I look forward to continuing my support for my alma mater in a new and different way."

School President Jim Kubacki is seeking an Interim Principal with the goal of conducting a search for a permanent replacement later in the fall.

Speaking from a media perspective, he will be missed. He has always been available to speak to the Observer, and he was always willing to sacrifice himself for a fun photo op. The Diocese will be lucky to have him.

Here he is at the 2017 Wings Fundraiser. He was well dressed for the Motown theme.

Here he is at the 2015 St. Baldrick's Charity Head Shaving Event. He didn't hesitate to smile and show off his "new look" to Alex Belisle.
