Kucinich Speaks Out For Lakewood People and All Americans Against "Deep State"

Dennis Kucinich was almost alone with Senator Skindell in standing up for the people of Lakewood and Lakewood Hospital against the Dark Money (Deep State) in Lakewood & Cuyahoga County.

He continues to fight the Deep State on the national level for Lakewoodites.

While many of disagree with Trump, it is refreshing the a man like Kucinich can speak out for the people on principle that our government is corrupted by entrenched, self-serving interests.

What is happening in Washington mirrors what is happening in Lakewood---people defending their turf who don't give a damn about the citizens or any principle.

I don't see the Lakewood connection on this one.
The federal "deep state" has been around for decades....as President Eisenhower warned in 1961.
It is also extremely powerful and controlled by very smart people.

Lakewood's "deep state", puny by comparison, is a more recent development. And it is nowhere nearly as smart.
BTW, if the federal "deep state" helps get rid of Trump.....then allow me to say "Go Deep State Go!"

I don't think this works very well.

We face a lot of threats. They interact in complex ways, and shift in relative importance from moment to moment and context to context. The vengeful "deep state" of one context may be, in another context, "our institutions" which prevent complete disaster when the rest of our system of checks and balances fails.

I wish that it weren't that way. There are good reasons to be suspicious of any secretive, low-accountability power center. If America ends up avoiding a disaster largely through "deep state" actions—rather than through leadership by elected majorities which have been evading that responsibility—this is cause for great concern.

But ultimately, it's qualitatively no different from the concern that's with us all the time: where does legitimate authority lie? Who can we trust to watch the watchmen? We might all agree that it should be the people, in theory, but in practice that's perennially problematic. We should keep working on it anyway. But there isn't going to be a perfect resolution.

(Descending to relative specifics for a moment, I think there's ample reason to ask how much the Trump presidency is really being harmed by the legacy "deep state," versus how much it's being harmed by statements from its own freshly-arrived staff, including the president himself.)

Meanwhile, as regards any comparison with Lakewood, I suspect that one person's irresponsible leaker is another person's principled whistleblower. Could anonymous sources at City Hall be called Lakewood's "deep state?" Does leaking inflammatory information without authorization from official superiors amount to an "attack from within?" I suspect that the answer to both questions is "yes," or "no," depending on who is answering.

Two comments:

1. Kucinich stood with Senator Skindell in opposition to the closure of Lakewood Hospital. His replacement, Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur, won't get involved because it's a "local issue". In 2015, she endorsed Mayor Summers re-election campaign.

A. Dennis asked the FTC and DOJ to intervene.

B. Marcy Kaptur sat on the sidelines.

C. She talks a big game about helping working people but won't assist the people who are affected by the closure of Lakewood Hospital. You know: 1500 jobs lost is a "local issue".

D. If residents want to gain traction on Lakewood Hospital, ask your federal representatives (Kaptur, Brown and Portman) to pressure the federal agencies that have oversight of this hospital deal. Federal agencies move when members of congress ask for an investigation.

2. I can tell you this from personal experience. Very few people in Washington want to work for the Trump administration. Even staunch Republicans. The fear of "permanent Trump ink" is terrifying to the DC politicos. Because of this, you have a massive talent gap. Mainly people with no experience in how federal agencies work.

Deep state is an appropriate term. We have a law director that is refusing to release documents, interlocking directorates with City Hall and corporate interests, and a Mayor who has lied to the people of Lakewood. As for supporting the deep state sacking of Trump, you must also want concentration camps, forced sterilization, and destitution cause that is what the 1% wants for you and yours.

I would not hold my breath waiting for any help from Kaptur.

She endorsed the Mayor the past mayoral election. Her name appears as an endorser on one of his mailings, along with the other BS.

What does this say about about Ms. Kaptur? Could she be as corrupt as Summers?

If what has been leaked proves to be incriminating...proves that the emoluments clause has been violated...proves there was treason and that government officials put their interests first and to the peril of our country's welfare, should we hold those who committed the leaks accountable all the same?

Should we consider those who are leaking information as whistle blowers?

Certainly there was a great degree of "leaked" information that was circulated and lead to victories in the Revolution...in our World Wars and other conflicts.

At what point does the illegal activity of those who are leaking information be considered acts of patriotism? Acts that in the end, better serve the greater interests of our country? How do we create a mechanism to see to it that corrupt actions by government officials is not kept a secret?
