... well not all of it, but important and historic pieces.

Mrs. Masgras, the 3rd grade teacher, had given her class the assignment of building dioramas of their favorite buildings and stores in Lakewood, Ohio. The class responded with an amazing selection of businesses and dioramas that really had the look and feel of the buildings and stores they chose.

Mrs. Masgras with Cooper, who chose a store he is very familiar with, KB Confections. KB used to be his grandfather's flower shop, Russell Flowers.

Image
Matthew had chosen Doughnut Kitchen, and was nice enough to bring in samples from them! Everyone liked stopping at this display.

Image
George from GV Art stopped by to see his shop and brought stickers and Tees.

Julie, owner of the Root, checks out the Root's diorama, looks great.

We will have more along with stories and interviews from the kids in the upcoming Lakewood Observer.

These are all pretty neat, but that model Donut Pantry is almost eerie.

After staring at the photo for a minute or two, I thought "well, maybe it could use a little newspaper box outside the entrance." Otherwise I'm not sure how it could really be improved on, as a replica.

A phenomenal teacher... My son was fortunate to have her many years ago at Lincoln. She knows how to bring out the best in her students. What a nice & creative way to bring the community into the classroom. Kudos, Mrs. Masgras!
