When Did It All Changed? Why? City Hall Document Fun!

Post by Jim O'Bryan »

Found while going through old papers...

What year and what administration (Mayor and Planning Director) said in writing to another group?.

"The Lakewood Observer project, both in its print and online forms, has been as asset for
Lakewood. It has provided a forum for community information sharing, an online gathering
place for the citizenry, and untold tools for community involvement. The Observer is always part
of any discussion on engaging the community for any event or issue."

And which Mayor and Administration have worked endlessly to marginalize, hurt, shut the LO down, tie us up, and restrict free speech? Including but not limited to; starting rival paper, taking over other websites, starting other websites, calling advertisers, shutting out the LO, Banning the LO, pressuring employees, even intimidating residents that didn't agree with them?

Let me give you a hint. In 2010, a secret deal was struck to close Lakewood Hospital, that the LO exposed, when it became obvious realized they were going to lie about it to the residents.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

When did it all change?

When they had something to hide and realized the paper and transparency was a threat to their plans.
