It has been brought to my attention, by several Lakewood residents, that Cleveland Clinic appear to have hired an outside company to staff the Lakewood Urgent Care staff of physicians.
It appears that residents are getting separate bills for their Urgent Care physicians. The charges range clear up into the $4,000.00 range to date, if these physicians are not in your healthcare network.
When choosing a health care facility that says Cleveland Clinic ER, one would assume that your doctor would be a Cleveland Clinic doctor. To protect yourself, make sure, if you are able, to check and make sure the physicians and other healthcare providers are in you insurance network.
I believe, if not informed prior to treatment, you may be able to fight the charges.

It is common problem, especially now that many ER physicians are "Rent a Doctors." I do believe the docs at the CC Lakewood "emergency room" are contract doctors, which means they may or may not accept your insurance.
