In the category of very minor positives…

As a result of this, my own dentist moved and actually practices in the INA building, now…

So Mr. Masek's latest Lakewoodites was particularly amusing for me.

and they knocked down the parking garage to put up a parking lot.
One of this town's needs is more parking, likely parking garages. So they knock one down.
Everything is back asswards.

The sight of such destruction and waste of resources turns my stomach.

Gross.

To me these photos are symbolic.

I never accepted the construction of it anyway, the real crime was when they destroyed what was there before they erected that ugly expensive monstrosity of a building. (looks like the Justice Center, a prison). It never represented "home town Lakewood", The city council who was in charge then, and allowed it to happen, that is who is to blame.

The old Detroit Theater, that could have been a beacon, a destination, a place to draw visitors, now it's a Mc Donald's, or an auto parts store, ugh. Where're about to loose another, the old Hilliard Theater, with vintage apartments, original 1923 construction. Thank god the powers that be, had the insight to restore the old "Christmas House" in Tremont. Thank god the "West Side Market" is still standing.

Drug Mart, demolished an original 1925 beautiful vintage 8 suite apartment building, for a parking lot. Progress? So I had a place to park to buy toilet paper? I'm just saying.

Speaking of garages, while my tax money is paying to demolish a perfectly fine garage and medical building, I am still awaiting an answer as to when Gus Frangos and/or family will be held accountable to fix the North Parking Garage they own. Back in October, I posted photos of a dilapidated southeast stairwell. Missing fire extinguishers, Latin Kings graffiti, water damage, and holes in the stairs.

Why is he getting away with this? I will remind you that Gus Frangos is the President of the Cuyahoga Land Bank, which is supposedly in place to save neighborhoods from blight. Meanwhile, this is what he and/or his family's garage looks like.

The wrong garage was demolished. Perhaps to allow a friend to make money?

Great photos, I'd like to have my picture taken sitting on that lonely park bench, amongst the ruble, with rufus.

I'm surprised no one tried to save the bench. and the sign on the building, "thrifty peddler", is it too late?
