Storefronts for Rent

Lakewood Alive, Lakewood One, Lakewood Chamber of Commerce, I would like very much, if you provided a service that would contain a listing of commercial properties along Detroit & Madison Avenue that is vacant, for rent or for lease, or for sale. Any and all available commercial properties in Lakewood.
I'd rather not drive up and down the busy commercial areas, tying up traffic, looking for storefronts, spaces for lent, Trying to park, get out of the car, to write the name, address, phone number. How nice and convenient it would be if some association in Lakewood, had a list, from area property owners, about they're vacancies, the name, phone number, all of it. . Potential businesses would have an easy access to all the properties available in Lakewood.
Not a real-estate company, they want too much info, $$$. Lakewood already has the entities, Lakewood Alive, Lakewood One, The Chamber of Commerce. all have the means and ways to support the businesses' in the community with this valuable service.
I'm just thinking. I am looking for a storefront to rent, to lease, I can't find a list, I have to drive up & down Detroit and Madison to scourer the area in search of the options. It should be easier, with Lakewood assistance, it would be.

I agree with Jackie, how great would that be, a photo of the storefront, the property, the square footage, the price, name, address, phone, the demographics.

Do I really need a realtor to simply find me a place to rent/lease? To see what is available? Shouldn't that be available on the internet? Couldn't the city provide that service as a complementary service to prospective business occupants?

Jackie, why did you agree with yourself on this thread? I may be confused but don't quite understand the second post.

It's sort of like people posting positive reviews about their own stores on ebay or amazon. But that pesky "real name" thing gets in the way around here.
More likely an attempt at humor?

But I think Jackie makes a good point.

The Lakewood Chamber of Commerce has NO interest in assisting owners of rental real estate because Patty claims "that's not a BUSINESS." They won't set up a landlords special interest group, or any way to list rental properties.
Yes, would be nice to have a central location as well as a "landlords' group" for sharing information, best practices, and listing properties that are available for rent, lease, or sale.

I wrote "Lakewood Alive", with my question, they replied, they are currently working on comprising such a list of vacant storefronts, just like I had asked. Wonderful. I have friends from out of town, they cannot take a trip to Lakewood, and drive around searching for storefronts, such an inconvenience. How great a service if someone put that together, such a valuable service, all to better the Lakewood experience.

The "mission" of LakewoodAlive is to "promote the importance of economic development."
It would seem to me that empty storefronts convey a look of economic depression and filling them would be good for the city and a positive sign of "economic development." Therefore, encouraging, promoting, and assisting people and businesses to locate in an empty storefront should be right up their alley. Why haven't they done that?

I will walk up and down Detroit and Madison Avenues, take pictures and I will point out the beauty and the deficiencies in our community. There are many, too many, and we need to address these issues, we could do so much better for Lakewood, we could do better for us, I am Lakewood. Don't you want better? Who doesn't? Tell me, who doesn't want to do better? Folks, we can let Lakewood ride, or we can push it up, I want to push it up to the max. If the rent goes up, or well.

The rent going up, is that a bad thing? Tell me, I'm searching for your thoughts, opinions.
