Hen smell?

I was driving through Lakewood yesterday (I no longer live in The Wood) and decided to roll my windows down and drive through some of the neighborhoods .... particularly those where I knew of homes raising backyard hens.
I smelled nothing!!!
Wasn't that the proponents of hens major issues? Oh ... and the rat infestation. I didn't see a single rat on my visit.
Yep, just more blah blah blah from Those In The Know.
Anyone smell anything since the backyard hen program was out in place?

The only bad smell emanating is from 12650 Detroit.

Bridget,
Right on!
Drive through Lakewood and what you smell is the smell of corruption!

What I find fascinating as a citizen of Lakewood is how council was busy debating backyard hens in 2014 while an active plan to shut-down the city's largest employer was nearing finality. Sad really.

I would much rather smell my neighbor's hens than all the s##t at city hall!

Peter -
The city has maintained a running log of complaints about hens since the pilot program began (the program was made permanent earlier this year). Very few complaints were registered, fewer still about smell. In fact studies have shown that hens are no more the source of smell and noise than dogs.

Or politicians

Bridget,
I agree. The smell of politicians at City Hall is the worst. It is great that any hen smell issues have been taken care of. If our councilmen could get out and walk their wards, the ball would really get moving.

Nothing in my area, but there are no hens in the area.
I'm sure if such a endeavor would expand, the smell could get "fowl" in the warmer months and you might want to try again at that time.
However, I do seem to smell sheep a lot lately.
