Thank You Bike Lakewood For Thanking Friends of LPL!

Yesterday, in a very welcome lull in anything really important, a good story broke through the doom and gloom of a gray November Day.
Bike Lakewood was meeting up to thank Friends of Lakewood Library, at the new bike repair station in front of the library.

While a cynic might ask, "Isn't there a repair station just a couple blocks away." The truth of the matter, not like this, and the story is so much better. Friends of Lakewood Library, are always looking for ways to make the experience of going to Lakewood Public Library better and more fulfilling, had noticed the increased use of bikes and skateboards at the library, and set about getting the money together to install a top-of-the-line bike repair station to the Library.
Library Director and avid cyclist James Crawford pointed out that this one has an air pump. "80% of all bike troubles revolve around tires, and flats. They worked hard to get this together and with the help and support of Bike Lakewood, they got it done, and that is a good thing."

Members of BikeLakewood assemble around the new station, and then turned and said, "All we did was help them figure out which one to get, Friend of Lakewood Library came up with the idea, raised the money, and contacted us. We were more than happy to be part of it."

Then the Friends of Lakewood Public Library appeared, smiling, making small talk, but thanking BikeLakewood for their help and their support.
I cannot begin to give you a proper description, of how choked up I was. Friends of Lakewood Public Library have been so important to the Lakewood Public Library, and the City of Lakewood for decades. When Ken Warren retired and moved on, the one thing he did was work closely with Friends of Lakewood Library, and kept them very much as family. To see them work with another Ken Warren project BikeLakewood, standing side by side, gladly working with each other, with ZERO politics, and a bright future. I just had to smile.

You see it is not just a nice bike repair station, it is a new asset to the community, brought to all of us, from two other great assets of the community, standing in front of one of our greatest assets, the Lakewood Public Library.
Thank you Friends of Lakewood Public Library, Bike Lakewood, Lakewood Public Library.
You give me hope.
