Dark Money David Stein Tells Voters Referendums Should Not Be Allowed

It was at Insider Paula Reed's "coffee" with about a dozen Lakewood voters and David Anderson was speaking.
I am told that David Stein and others could not understand why the city charter allowed citizens the right to organize a referendum and he said they wanted to change the charter to prevent further rights of the citizens to vote.
Please recall LHA trustee and Insider Rebecca Patton (pictured below with Mr. Stein in that background) said similar things at a Library meeting:
Voters are "ignorant"
This is a window into the minds of the "Bid Thinker" dark money Insider "Elitists"
They hate fundamental rights of the people of Lakewood to vote.
David Anderson and other insiders have more of the "coffees" scheduled to work against voters.

David Stein has reportedly said, in regard to the hospital deal:
We cannot allow the public to vote on this."
It's outrageous - and just one in a long line of attempts to silence the public in Lakewood. From "purges" to lawsuits, this administration is hell bent on getting its way without "interference" from pesky constituents.

What else would you expect from the owner of a place called "Plantation Home"?

...and cotton. It could very well be a coincidence, but it is very interesting that his other store across the street is called Cotton.
Again, very well could be a coincidence.

Who the hell does David Stein think he is? He wants to silence the peoples voice in Lakewood that is disgusting. He should move to another country where free speech is not allowed. This is our city and you will not silence us David Stein. Close our hospital and run away with the money is not our idea of Democracy. That is my opinion. I will never enter one of your stores. I do not like people who are trying to silence me. Go Away! What an Anti American statement to try to squelch the voice of the people.

City Hall, and LHA have spent way more money and effort on controlling if not killing the conversation, then trying to explain what is really going on.
We are well over $1 million in crisis management, PR, marketing, papers, flyers, etc.
They could have given us the truth, explain it, and we would run it. Or release the documents and we could wite it.
Seems pretty easy.

So you just implied that David Stein is a racist because he has businesses named Plantation Home and Cotton. That just happened right.
Anybody else want to comment on this? Or is everybody cool with what Mike and Lori just posted. Good God.
Jim O'Bryan, Dan Alaimo, you guys cool with people implying that someone is racist and they just walk out of the room?

His businesses are named "Plantation Home" and "Cotton". Those are facts.
Folks can draw their own conclusions.

Patrick
I for one and not into anyone referring someone who is a racist, or any of the "ist", unless of course they exhibit those tendencies. Which to my knowledge David never has.
David Stein runs two of the nicest stores in town. Plantation is one of the best furniture stores on the Westside, and Cotton is talked about all over the county. I have watched David Stein go over and aboard tying red ribbons to parking meters in freezing weather so that downtown looks nice.
But I find David's comment even more disturbing. Especially as he says to many friends that worked with him on the WestEnd, and are deep in the fight for what goes on at the hospital ground. It is a public asset, we deserve a vote, and the truth.

This is just some of the filth that Jim and his group are fighting so hard to keep on the Deck. Just more proof, as Jim says, that the Deck "works." Sadly, no one is surprised. People have become desensitized to it here.

First Amendment, Patrick and Corey, First Amendment. You say it, you own it.
Why are you harping on Jim for what others say? He has no control nor does he want to control the conversation. He has said this many times.
Anyway, I didn't read anything racist into the remarks. This is not about skin color. It is about elitism. It seemed to me it was concerning Stein's comment on denying the "public" (or the "ignorant", as Rebecca Patton said) the right to vote. Seems like a southern way of thinking that should have died decades ago.
So, the Deck defends the First Amendment and Stein and Co. would prefer to deny us our "say"...
...and you are attacking the Deck? Good grief!

Gorey, you no what is filthy? The filthy deal Mayor Summers and others are trying to pull on the citizens of Lakewood. Closing our hospital, giving away Lakewoods biggest asset, eliminating 1000 good tax paying jobs and creating hardships for merchants in the area. And Mr. Stein wants to silence the voices of the taxpaying people in Lakewood. THAT IS FILTHY.
Jim O' Bryan is a Godsend in this community he is giving us the platform for our voices to be Heard. Thank God!

You are comparing closing a hospital to racism? Classy.
You mention the number of people affected by the closing of a hospital. It pales in comparison to the number of people affected by racism. Classy.
The Deck is definitely "working" for you.

You mentioned you're having a hard time keeping up. It's elitism, Mr. Rossen, elitism. Don't be confused.
Is there an emoji for grasping at straws?

I find it humorous that you are trying to argue this.
