Pae Says City Has NO PLAN for Hospital Site Development

Jenn Pae speaking on behalf of City Hall on October 13, 2015:
"The City has not agreed to have the hospital building demolished. It is currently in use, and will be until 2018.
No plans have been made or finalized for the future of that building."
Can Mr. Rossen, Spokesman for Insiders for Fuax Progress, kindly explain if he can, how City Hall has NO PLAN after 6 years of "planning"?
Where's the "Forward Progress"?
IF Pae is telling the truth, we'll be stuck with a "MOTHBALLED" building for a long time.
Vote Against 64 and we'll put that building to use in a New York Minute.

Today, Mr. Rossen, apparently hoping to provide expertise, and thus relying on the offhand comments of 3-4 LO Deckers in an online forum, declared the hospital building "rotten."

This reminds me of this classic thread...where Ms. Pae not only cannot confirm or deny if the family health center is or is not a hospital, but worries that what the master agreement provides, would happen.
"Therefore, LHA could become bankrupt meaning all of the land and buildings could revert back to the City. The City would then be responsible for the maintenance, utilities, insurance, etc. for the properties. Without a hospital system to operate the hospital, the City would have to take on these expenditures and risk. This could put a strain on the Citys ability to provide public safety, public works and human services."

Prevent the sky from falling on Ms. Pae.

I believe Ms. Pae and the rest of Summers Company know exactly what the plan is for the hospital site. It will most likely be demolished (C&J?) and the Michael P. Summers & Co. Recreation Center will be put up. It will most likely be $500 per month to join, shutting it out to about 90% of Lakewood residents. However, I suspect that this recreation center will not actually have much to do with anything recreational. Rather, I believe that the "recreation" center will sport some of the following features:
1. Hot tubs and Jacuzzis
2. Saunas and steam rooms
3. A massage parlor
5. A gambling den
6. A Hookah, cigarette, and e-cig lounge.
7. A full cigarette and e-juice shop
8. A full-service and poolside service bar open from 5:30 A.M. to 2:30 A.M. (curse those pesky state liquor laws!)
9. Valet parking
10. Designated drivers on-staff so if Summers or his Company friends drink too much, they don't have a worry about getting a DUI.
11. A room full of cross-shred paper shredders
Most likely, this "recreation" center will be maintained by city workers and taxpayer dollars, unless Summers decides to farm it out.
I believe that this is Summers & Co.'s plan, called "The Michael P. Summers Recreation Center but actually a private country club."

The courageous, Jay Foran, has also gone silent on the Observer FaceBook about the PLAN.
Give Mr. Foran's propensities, does that mean an announcement of the BIG DREAM is coming soon?

I thought Foran hated the LO. If so, why does he feel the need to bicker back and forth on the LO Facebook page during an Indians playoff game?

A Hospital is the highest and best use at the hospital site.
No alternative economic development exists that can match the economic benefits of the hospital.
Despite years of planning for development on the hospital site, Summers and his City Hall planners have no market data, no traffic studies, no estimates of employees, no estimates of tax revenues, no prospective employers, no estimates of numbers of residents, and not even one business that would use, build or occupy ANY of the development scenarios they propose.
Nothing is as viable or valuable as a hospital and everything proposed by Summers is more risky than keeping the hospital open.

Maybe they've taken me off their list, but I have seen very little from the "For 64" people aside from Facebook posts, and even they have dwindled lately. Election day remains Nov. 8, but the voting period runs from mid-October to Nov. 8. In the recent past, something like 70% of voters voted on Election Day. This year it will likely be significantly lower. I wonder what's going on in their inner sanctum. Perhaps they don't have access to the big money they had last fall.

Where are the "national developers" that the mayor alleged were interested in developing that site?
Not once has anyone verified that as a true statement.
There will be NOTHING on that site for at least the next 3 years as we wait for the FHC center to be completed - estimate last quarter of 2018.
According to the Master Agreement, Lakewood is stuck with the hospital building - maintaining it and such- until the FHC is complete and the ER moves out of the hospital building. Again, fourth quarter of 2018.
We are left with bricks and mortar and no development, plus we have all the risk. Who knows what the economy will be like in 2018.
