Will Lakewood Hospital Soon House Animals?

Post by Gary Rice »

Is it really possible that the former Lakewood Hospital could soon become a state-of-the-art, full-service medical trauma center for our finned and feathered friends? It would seem that at least one person envisions the former human hospital as becoming a world-class animal medical facility.

"Animals could be cared for from all over the world in this facility. We even envision having the world's first surgical trauma center for fish and ocean-dwelling animals. Everything from gill replacements, to caviar strain development, as well as shark dental work and jellyfish arm reattachments should be possible!"

Reportedly, the former hospital's lower atrium area may have already been evaluated with respect to becoming a large aquarium; also having a Hippopotamus water tank, with an adjacent elephant nursery nearby. An avian flight area would seem to be the ideal choice for the atrium's fourth floor, and a reptile recovery wing could be housed in the former surgery center.

"The former psychiatric area, being already secure, will also be the perfect place for poisonous reptile propagation, and these highly misunderstood animals could then be provided to zoos and habitats worldwide."

"It will also be possible to re-stock our area's local woodland parks with plenty of wolves, black bears, and eastern diamondback rattlesnakes, in order to re-establish a proper ecological balance. The hospital's former neonatal section is already perfect for the future propagation and care of endangered primates."

"With the explosion of the animal companion industry, finding such an ideal location for such a world-class animal hospital and emergency wing would be a dream come true for us."

OK,OK, so I've pulled your leg a bit today...Chuckle and get over it.

Hey, look at it this way: This post probably makes about as much sense as some of the other stuff that I've been reading about, concerning Lakewood Hospital's hypothetical future lately...

That future will be in your hands....or will it?

We'll find out soon enough, and whatever happens won't be in our imagination...or will it?

See, creative use of emoticons!

However my friend you paint with a broad brush, I know some people that have over 3,000 hours of studying documents, talking with people, fact checking and digging. Certainly you would have to give him a tad more credit for depth, than say you or I.

Gary, you can kick my butt on music, teaching issues, tons of things, but I bring to the table my own specialties, than you might not be able to cover.

It is like practicing a musical instrument, say a saw, with time experience, and knowledge you can take a tool I can barely use, into a beautiful musical instrument.

PROOF (I love this video!)

Just saying, experience, knowledge, background and reasons mean a lot more in this format than you give credit to, in this post.
