Since the subject of precisely which farm animals should be allowed in Lakewood comes up from time to time….

The acorns are about to do what property taxes have not (so far): drive me out of Lakewood. They pretty much kept me up last night, dropping onto the upstairs balcony outside the bedroom. But the worst of it is cleaning up after they’re all on the ground. A couple years ago I raked up, painstakingly, 28 lawn bags of ‘em, weighing in at about 30 pounds apiece. From one tree. I don’t even bother with the smaller tree in the front yard.

City Council should adopt an ordinance permitting pigs to roam about, if only in October. I understand they love acorns, and they leave behind all-natural fertilizer right where it’s needed. Maybe LEAF could work something out with a nearby livestock operation where we could borrow a few pigs for some weeks. Someone who is retired and likes the outdoors could supervise their collection activities, and possibly even arrange for their overnight care. Maybe set up an ad hoc petting zoo in Lakewood Park, with Lori’s goats, for when their daily work is done. Who knows what other farm animals could be put to good use? Homeowners with oak trees could pay a reasonable fee for the services of a hungry pig. Certainly I’d pay. It takes a half-day of backbreaking work to rid my yard of all the acorns. But the trees are beautiful!

Apparently our squirrels are lazy or have been relocated to Avon. So let’s figure out how to make this work. Any ideas?

City Council is much to busy protecting the Mayor to worry about anything else. An alleged hospital money laundering scheme, alleged theft of Lakewood Hospital Foundation money,Alleged vote rigging in the last election, alleged theft of residents homes without due process, especially the elderly, terminally ill, Blacks, Hispanics, Arabic, etc.. Non disclosure of crime in Lakewood. In general, just not taking care of the city.

They are too busy trying to keep their stories straight! If I were them, I would be calling the Feds right now!

Great idea!! And if the pigs could also be trained to search for truffles, think of the economic impact that would have on our community!

Good thinking. We are going to have to get creative. We are behind $6 million on the schools, apparently Foster Pool needs a few million, and we have that enormous 125,000 litigation bill .

The city of Lakewood definitely has the space to house quite a few pigs. It appears we have so many empty lots from where Summers and Extended Company allegedly stole residents homes, without due process, and then called in their alleged buddies at C&J to tear their homes down.

If the pigs got sick, we could take them to the Lakewood Urgent-Care. Since they only have the ability to apply a band-aid ,
they could be transported to a REAL ER via another ambulance ride! I hope Fairview Hospital has a wallow waiting room, as most patients wait three to five hours for service!

Note: Did anyone notice that Donald Marten and Sons are the ones transporting from the Urgent-Care to a real ER? Remember when they were sponsors for the Ambulance chase? Is it possible we have found another branch of the Summers Extended Company.
