I did not see the Mayor's attack on unnamed citizens spreading lies on WOIO. I heard he seemed whiny, which he should. After all for the past two years, every time he opens his mouth, someone says, "You're lying." It has become crazy, when he looked us in the eyes to assure us, "The hospital is not closing" people screamed "liar." When he said there would be over $120 million in new development in the space the hospital was in, nasty people yelled "liar." When Mayor Summers told us that the hospital was hemorrhaging money, when it was still in the black, nasty people yelled "liar!"

Now the Mayor is yelling "liars."

So let's help the Mayor catch all the liars, and clear his good name.

DEMAND CITY HALL RELEASE ALL DOCUMENTS, ALL DOCUMENTS.

Kevin Butler, help us get back the Mayor we knew, clear his name, release the documents you have fought for a year to hide.

We had a Block Club Meeting on Wednesday and our Councilman, John Litten, said "WE HAVE THE BEST LAW DIRECTOR IN THE STATE"!!

Before this story broke, I considered both friends. I hope it does not need to end that way.

But as the 3rd election cycle nears and City Hall continues to come up with various excuses why documents are not available, it is looking worse and worse.

Only one person can end the arguing, the Civil War, Mayor Summers, and it is so easy, and costs the city NOTHING, release the documents.

Why on earth a mayor would not want every question answered before an election points directly to troubling things.

We now have known about the Hospital Debacle for nearly 2 years. Yet hundreds of pages deemed "not fit for public viewing" "we created those reports for an investigation, but cannot generate them again." "You are not asking for the documents correctly." and on and on and on and on.

It took J. D. Sallinger 6 years to write "Catcher In The Rye" if you asked Mr. Sallinger about the book, he would encourage you to read all of it.

What if he gave you only 3 of the 214 pages? Would you have any grasp of the real story? No.



For something so "wonderful" that was thrown on them "suddenly" after plotting it for 5 years, they are really working hard to keep the facts secret.

Wow! The best law director in the state, really? I assume he is the one advising the mayor on public records laws, correct? If Butler is so great, why is our legal counsel being farmed out? Also, shouldn't Litten be more focused on the very serious issues facing this city and taking comments and suggestions rather than bragging about Butler? Was Litten assigned to be Butler's cheerleader? In my opinion, all three of them still have lots of answering to do.

I think this is probably the most appropriate thread to say this:

Mike Summers, in my opinion, has (obviously) created possibly the biggest local civil war ever. Many friends and neighbors no longer talk, some have even become enemies. Every step of the way, it has been more division, more hiding, and more cover-ups.

In my opinion, a leader that divides is not a leader.

I really liked Mike Summers when he was a councilman. He actually helped solve problems and seemed like a down-to-Earth guy. I have no idea what on Earth happened. His personality, in my opinion, took a complete 180 degree spin. As much disdain as I have for him, it is actually sad what has happened, really sad. I didn't even think his first year or two as mayor was that bad.

The more I find out, the more it appears that this was in the works for a very long time. It would make me very sad to find out that Summers' plan all along was to sell out the whole city.

His best bet would be to resign, in my opinion.

I couldn't agree more.

Sadly, it is Mike's friends that "trademark" is the Civil War, secrecy, and miss-truths. They didn't trust residents at the WestEnd strip mall, the "closing Grant," and now The Hospital. Same names, same positions. One of their best known for heckling School Board Member Markling when he spoke of the "secret government."

One side for development, any development.

Other side trying to slow it down.

A growing handful with "Why not just be honest."

None of it ever had to happen.

I appreciate your history and your wishing-well for your friends. My sympathies. IMO, releasing documents and seeking forgiveness in the public domain are woefully inadequate consequences. Malfeasance and betrayal of the public interest demand consequences commensurate with the violation. Recall and disbarment are mild compared to the likely motivations of their actions.

Lines have been crossed and sh*t is too serious. I pretty much don't see accepting a confessional, singing kumbaya, and talking about these as good times, as though this were reality TV and Lakewood were simply pranked and punk'd by its government leaders.

I think Jim first had some confirmation of the Hospital closing from a delivery person. No secret stays secret forever.

Anyway, I was talking to an employee of the Hospital who stated that the Lakewood Hospital Association spent $8,000 per bed in 2015 to upgrade the Hospital beds at Lakewood Hospital and then donated them to the Clinic.

A hidden codicil in the Master agreement required the City to donate $25 million in Hospital equipment to the Cleveland Clinic. The actual agreement is different than what was reported to the public and to Council. Does Council know? Does Council care?

I know that a couple members of council have decided, that the deal was screwed up from day one, but this is the best we can expect now. So they have thrown in.

Sad, I mentioned to both of them, "OK, why can't we see the paperwork?"

They had no answer.

In 2010, Ed FotzGerald and Mike Summers decided to trade our hospital for magic beans to get them elected to hire office. They lost hundreds of millions for their political future. They gambled with our money our assets, now they lie to cover their asses. Why good people would throw in with that is beyond me.

We need to take control of City Hall again.

Do these two council members realize what they are up against? This isn't something that their buddy Judge Carroll can dismiss. We are dealing with alleged breaking of federal laws. How far will they go to protect Summers? What was their great reward? If I were them, I would be contacting the FBI, and then, singing like a bird!

I believe Summers has already made it very clear how he feels about the citizens of Lakewood. When push comes to shove, I believe these two council persons will be thrown under the bus!

I started speaking with Mayor Michael P. Summers in September 2014, about "proof" the hospital is closing. Between September and October, Mayor Summers assured me it was not true. There was NO TALKS about a Rec Center, or closing the hospital. I asked him if he had spoken to anyone on LHA Board, and he said , "No, it has been months." Of course Mayor Summers was on LHA Board, as the fiduciary agent for you, me and the residents of Lakewood. To keep us informed about what was going on at LHA. I had no idea, the very perseon trusted with our most valuable asset, would also sell it out from under us for NOTHING.

Well nothing but millions for friends to manage, but nothing for the residents that just got screwed out of $100 million - $300 million!

Yeah, hey Mayor Summers, found a liar for you.
