I received my water bill and behold there was a message included from big brother. The message informed me that the inmates were running the asylum and the accountants were running the city. What it said the City of Lakewood council and mayor don't care if you have to travel to an out of town hospital to visit your loved ones in during ice, snow and blizzards. What it fails to mention that Cleveland Clinic will not pay local property tax and have minimized the employees that work in the city. What it fails to tell you that income tax finally went up after the huge loss of all the hospital's workers wages and it is still less than previous years. What it fails to mention that housing market took a 15 to 20 percent dump and Lakewood is just starting to recover years after other cities have recovered with lower property taxes. What it fails to tell you that a small business is any business with less than 600 employees. What it tells you the City is promoting high-density housing to increase income taxes. What if fails to tell you is that the city is approving no taxes for ten years for a complex that appears like stacked cargo containers with no green space, an environmental disaster. What if fails to tell you is an estimate is just that, an estimate and governments are liars and incompetent when making these predictions.

If the candidate is running for council or mayor as an incumbent vote for someone else. You can do no worse, better a barking dog candidate than a liberal that is void of facts because they are afraid to be a conservative. Lakewood has nothing but common core liberal indoctrinated council that couldn't make change for a dollar. The City of Lakewood doesn't care about your welfare, your homes investment or medical services that are convenient, it's all about a deluded narcissistic attitude by a council, mayor and the current administration guided by accounts and consultants.

They've been using the water bill as propaganda for over a year.
They also created a fake newspaper, created a fake "Community" Facebook page, and hired the moderator of Lakewood Citizen at City Hall to guarantee slanted coverage from that outlet.
That moderator is now a "reporter" for Lakewood Patch, further stretching the media tentacles of "Team Summers".

Don't forget our wonderful "ER" that is really alleged to only be an urgent-care Two ambulance rides, one "ER", or alleged urgent-care visit and one actual "ER" visit before real emergency treatment can be sought. Don't forget, double the ambulance bill, one supposed "ER" bill and one REAL ER bill.

The school construction supposedly went over budget and the schools will supposedly be asking for more money in 2017. Was anything mentioned in the water bill about this?

Drugs, especially heroin remain to be the number one problem in Lakewood, even if Summers appears to like to hide this from his citizens. Did the water bill mention anything Summers, specifically, is doing to combat this issue?

A million dollar fiber optic communications system for city hall was evidently much more important than road resurfacing, especially Brown. Most streets north of the William Sonoma line were done and were evidently more important than the citizens basements that were flooding. Was anything put in the water bill regarding basement flooding on certain streets and how it would be dealt with?

The only economic development we can evidently attract is vape stores and lounges, bars, and burner cell phone stores (Commonly called "call your drug dealer direct for a lot less" stores) Most, if not all of the new housing going up has a five or ten year tax abatement.

I believe if City Hall were audited by a 100% independent entity, we would be broke! Thanks to Fitz! and Summers, the dynamic duo, for putting our city on the path to hell.

Finally, back to the water bill, doesn't this border on using taxpayer money for political purposes? Since political committees have been formed on both sides of the referendum issue, doesn't that now make this issue "political"? Is telling citizens about how allegedly great the supposed "ER" is via the water bill an attempt to influence voters? Perhaps someone would like to ask the Ohio Auditor's Office their opinion:

I will scan and post #5 tomorrow. One of my favorite lines .... "Cleveland Clinic .... Will invest $36 million of its own money". Its own money! How generous that they will invest their own money in a property they will own. Awesome!!! We invested our OWN money in our house!! Can we get a shout out in the next community bulletin?

That's an interesting statement that leads to what may be interesting answers "they are not of this community." For each of the Council and Mayor (and those of immediate prior years), are they born and bred, or are they recent opportunists? Where from, high school, how many years in Lakewood, how did they arrive, etc? That might be powerful for any upcoming election.

In response to cmager question: They are all lifelong Lakewoodites. They have lived here and continue to live here. Summer's, Pea, Butler, etc are all here and staying here. Can someone bring evidence and proof that they are getting money or favors? Probably not. I need HARD proof. Give me a one fact that proves that they are "on the take" and personally benefiting. I need hard proof that they are receiving money as a result of their decisions.

I'm not sure if you are addressing me, but all I was doing was answering the question about how many are Lakewood "natives" - and doing so to the best of my knowledge.

Mr. Mager, the quote is "they are not this community." It's a hope, a belief, that the Summers cabal does not represent what Lakewood aspires to .That lies and manipulation are not the norm. That we as a community are better than that. Better than them.
I never said " that they are not of this community." Just the opposite, they are the product of decades of political inbreeding. They are the entrenched power in this community with a death grip on truth and transparency. The question that hangs in the balance , is how many of us will stand up and say no more of this, no more of you and your perverse take on democracy.
