Manner's Big Boy
The sadness, trying everything from all you can eat fish fry's, to a poor excuse of an unlimited salad bar. Why didn't they see the light? If your costly eat in diners are not making it, loosing money hand over fist, then why not go the route of Rally's? A small take out, drive thru, offering your fabulous Big Boy Hamburgers, your strawberry pie, French fires, milk shakes, you would still be here and bigger and brighter than ever.

There is hope!

New Manners Big Boy Fast Food joints popping up around Ohio and the country.
Corporate owned, this one is on Route 91 just north of 422. Classic menu circa 1970s. 2016 prices!

So, did you like the Manners Big Boy, or were you a Kenny Kings Big King fan?

Big Boy over Big King. Remember Lakewood's location, Center Ridge, and North Olmsted? Kenny King was on Warren Rd., Wooster & Hilliard and Lorain Rd. in Fairview Park. Big Boy at W130 & Brookpark is still there and we stop at the one in Port Clinton when we go that way.

The first and most memorable hamburger I ever had, we lived at 10400 Broadway, in Cleveland, across from Calgary Cemetery, it was 1963, I was about 12 yrs. old. walking home from Garfield Park, I went to Garfield Elementary School, There was a Manners restaurant on 12009 Broadway, Pop was a chef at " Olskoles Restaurant & Party Center" As I'd walk home from Garfield Pool, down the hill, I stopped at Manner's, I'll have one Big Boy Burger to go. $.55 cents. I never had anything that tasted so good, sorry mom. I stopped at Manner's on Brookpark road back in March 2016, it was awful, not as good, was it me, or the chef?
Manner's should have closed there "dine in" eateries, they had the best burgers since, the " Red Barn" closed, But they didn't want to abandon the sit down diner. That was the "nail in the coffin". oh well!

Best hamburger I ever had was at Finnegan's. This was a bar right next to Malley's (since absorbed by Malley's). Mary Finnegan owned and ran it. You (a customer) would have to cajole Mary into cooking you a hamburger. It was as big as a f****** dinner plate! I think it cost $1.50. I'd take friends in there and they couldn't believe it!
