Shameless Football Plug!

This weekend marks the beginning of high school football, so I encourage everyone to come out Friday at 7pm to watch Lakewood play Medina.
The players and coaches have been working very hard and would appreciate the support.
The marching band and cheerleaders will make it a well-rounded show.
If you were at the band event last week, you already know that they sound great.
The cheerleaders have a big season ahead, including an appearance at a Browns game (story in next print edition).
The scoreboard at FFL Stadium is fixed and everyone is ready to go.
Just $6 for adults, free for senior citizens.
Also, ESPN will be here on Saturday at noon for the St. Edward game at FFL Stadium.
College football is still a week away, so come down and check it out. You might even get on national TV!
I'll be covering the teams this year for the Observer.
I'm happy to announce that I will have same-day game stories up on the Observer front page...so you will be able to read about the games soon after completion.
The PD continues to cut high school sports coverage, so this will be your best spot for HS sports news.

The players spent many days practicing in the hot sun.

So did the cheerleaders!

Director Steinbrunner and his crew have the marching band ready to go.
